I decided to rewrite the comments on this because I sounded like a spaz. o.0

I started this before Xenosaga Ep II came out and eventually finished it a while after it came out here. I also started Shion, but never completed her.

I started with the original picture which I did a quick (and ugly) sketch of. I traced a couple details that were difficult to get exact. Then I redrew the entire thing as a clean outline (on the left).

Then I copied the outline and began to add in the colours. This whole piece took at least 15 hours, probably longer. The hair and eyes aren't perfect, but it's difficult to get the same effect. A 3D model can have many strands on it's head, while pixels are very limited. I may try to redo the hair at some point, but I'm not sure how to make it look better.

Xenosaga is Copyright to Namco and Monolith Software.
M.O.M.O is still massively cute in Xenosaga II, I like her this way more than in the first one.

PS: For those who do not believe this is pixelled, please zoom into the image. Try looking at the blue parts and the tights, I think it is the most evident there. Obviously I worked from a reference and this is not an original work of mine, it was practice :3

OH! IT WAS SO WORTH ALL YOUR TIME! She's beautiful! I like the outfit--especially the hat. I doubt I'd ever have the patience to do something like this, but you've created a masterpiece. Awesome work. ^_^

This is seriously wonderful, im not an anime-fan, and i even dont like anime, but this is such a wonderfully done pixelart, everythings almost perfect.. there is depth, nice shading, nice lineart, lots of details, but not too much. the hairs would need some work in my opinion, maybe a bit more highlight. the left hand seems a bit akward too but nothing major..

in overall, great colors, great pixeling, great lineart, lots of work invested.. deserve a fav

I think the hand looks okay..I know the hair sucks but I tried my best..I just don't want to fight with it anymore XD
As you can see this is a pretty involved piece to do..and hair is just so darn HARD with pixels XD
I tried :/

Now to add in a background! Any ideas?

Very long hehe, but I think it took a long time because I wasn't working on it for a long time..
But it did take a long time of actual solid work XD

And I'm thinking of doing another one of these characters! XD
